Motorola has unveiled new ultra high-end “AURA” mobile phone that was inspired by luxury watches and handcrafted design. Motorola says the handset is made with more than 700 individual components of which 200 high precision parts are used in engineering rotating mechanism for the front plate. It is the first handset to use round LCD display with 16 million colors and 300dpi resolution. A Grade 1, 62-carat sapphire crystal lens – one of the most scratch-resistant materials on earth, protects the display. The AURA uses gears composed of Rockwell 50-55 hardened steel and 130 precision ball bearings that assist the opening blade.
“AURA is Motorola’s latest endeavor into the high-tier mobile device space and is the result of our continued inspiration to innovate in design, imagination and state-of-the-art handcraftsmanship,” said Jim Wicks, corporate vice president and director of Consumer Experience Design, Mobile Devices, Motorola. “From the moment AURA owners hold their phones, they elevate their own experience in luxury and unmatched quality.”
When you are talking about this kind of craftsmanship, price and other specifications are not that important. But just to let you know, it will be available exclusively from MOTO Store for $1,999.99 and will feature 2-megapixel camera, Bluetooth, Quad-band GSM, microSD card slot, multimedia player and up to 7.3 hours of talk time. You can get more information about the handset on Motorola AURA’s website.
