VR-ZONE has published four Intel slides showing mobile processor and platform roadmap for 2009. In first quarter of 2009, Intel will add one quad core Q9000 and four dual core T9800, T9550, P9600 and P8700 processors to its mobile line up. Intel will also launch their new GM47 chipset in first quarter that would have new 4700MHD graphics core running at 640MHz.
In second quarter Intel will refresh the Montevina platform by adding low voltage SP 9600, SL9600 and SU9600, along with mainstream T9900 (3.06GHz) and P8800 (2.66GHz) processors. This Montevina refresh will be short lived, as Intel will launch Clarksfield processors based on Nehalem architecture and introduce the new Calpella platform in third quarter of 2009. Calpella will bring along Intel 5 Series Express Chipsets with Ibex Peak-M.
Basically, the next major update to Intel’s mobile processor lineup will happen in Q3 2009. Till that time Intel will keep itself busy by introducing minor updates to it mobile lineup.
