NVIDIA: nForce Chipsets Better Than Intel’s ChipsetsSubmitted by lalit on October 30, 2009 - 8:36pm.
In an emailed statement to TG Daily, NVIDIA’s spokesperson said “NVIDIA nForce chipsets have traditionally been full of innovative features, even better than Intel’s own chipsets. NVIDIA Ion has redefined the netbook category.” The spokesperson blamed Intel for slowing down innovation by stopping competition. Intel earlier this year filed a case against NVIDIA asking the company to stop making chipsets for Intel processors based on Nehalem architecture. “We learned that Intel is postponing USB 3 introduction until 2011. With no competition in chipsets, it seems Intel has decided that innovation is not needed for USB any time soon,” said NVIDIA’s spokesperson. “With no one to push Intel to innovate, PC enthusiasts are left with Intel chipsets and the features and performance they deliver, or lack there of.” NVIDIA’s chipsets like Ion for netbooks and 9400M for notebooks definitely offer better performance than comparable chipsets from Intel. Whether, NVIDIA can sell chipsets for Nehalem based processors is up for court to decide.
