A Boston based startup Litl has designed a new easy-to-use home computer called Litl webbook. The new computer has a unique design that can be used as a standard netbook or flipped around for use as a TV or photo frame. The webbook features a new operating system designed to offer completely new and simple way for everyone in the family to enjoy online photos and all the web has to offer.

The 12-inch display on the Webbook has 178-degree viewing angle. Hardware specifications of the computer are 1.6GHz Intel Atom processor, 1GB RAM, 2GB flash memory, GPU for 3D acceleration (support up to 720p video), webcam and WiFi. Webbook has limited 2GB storage because all the data is stored online and retrieved via wireless connection. Ports present on the computer include headphone jack, USB, and HDMI that can be used for bigger display.

On the software side, there’s support for Flickr and Shutterfly online gallery, Weather channel, Facebook channel, Internet browsing and streaming Internet TV. The webbook automatically updates itself, patches security gaps, and optimizes its technical performance. The Litl webbook is available now on Litl’s website for $699, with an optional remote control for $19.
