NVIDIA Announces 4GB Quadro FX 5800 Graphics Card

NVIDIA announced Quadro FX 5800 – the first ever graphics card with 4GB standard memory. The card is designed for 4D modeling used in oil and gas exploration, medical imaging, designing and scientific visualization. Quadro FX 5800 has 240 parallel cores that are capable of fill rates that exceed 52 billion texels per second and geometry performance of 300 million triangles per second. The card has memory bandwidth of 102GB per second.
Quadro FX 5800 has support for CUDA, DirectX10 and OpenGL 2.1. It also supports true 10-bit color, resulting in billions of colors. Video outputs on the card are two dual-link DVI ports and single DisplayPort socket. As you would have guessed by now all this power won’t come cheap, the Quadro FX 5800 is priced $3,499.
