Intel Plans to Launch Three Arrandale Processors for Ultra-thin NotebooksSubmitted by lalit on November 12, 2009 - 7:59am.
Intel is planning to launch three 32nm Arrandale CPUs under Calpella platform for ultra-thin notebooks. The three CPUs will target mid-range and high-end market and include 1.2GHz Core i7-640UM for $305, 1.06GHz Core i7-620UM for $278 and 1.06GHz Core i5-520UM for $241. Intel will launch all three CPUs in first half of 2010. Before switching to 32nm Arrandale, Intel will ship dual core, Core 2 Duo SU9600, SU9400 and SU7300, Pentium SU4100 and SU2300 and single core Celeron 743 processors for mid-range and low-end ultra-thin notebooks in Q4 2009. Following the launch of 32nm Arrandale processors in first half of 2010, Intel plans to launch two Calpella based Intel CPUs for mid-range ultra-thin notebooks and several Calpella and Montevina-based CPUs for entry level ultra-thin notebook, including a upgraded single-core Celeron CPU. Intel will also introduce 32nm based desktop and regular notebook processors in first quarter of 2010, along with new Atom processor based on Pine Trail platform.
