AppShopper and 148Apps, two services that track iPhone App Store have announced that there are over 10,000 applications available on the iPhone App Store. The number just includes apps available on US store and not on other App Store through out the world. Total number of apps available throughout the iTunes App Store worldwide is not being tracked, but it is very likely that the number is around 12,000 to 15,000.
Apple launched the App Store along with iPhone 3G in July this year and has already sold more than $100 million worth apps through the store. If the sales and application development continues at this pace Apple’s App Store will become world largest mobile application store very soon.
