Video game console sales have been continuously dropping for first three quarter of this year. However, iSuppli is reporting that PS3 sales during week of Black Friday is expected to help video game console market to return to growth during fourth quarter this year. iSuppli estimates that 24.6 million game consoles were sold in Q4 a rise of 5.2 percent when compared to same period last year.

“Sony’s PS3 sales reached an all-time high during the week of Black Friday as consumers were attracted by its new low pricing and alluring bundle deals,” said Pamela Tufegdzic, analyst for iSuppli. “According to Sony, 440,000 PS3 consoles were sold in the US during the week of November 29, a record for the product and nearly double from a year earlier. In comparison, Nintendo Wii sales were down on year during the same period.”
