According to Digitimes, Apple has started preparing to launch several new products in first quarter of 2011. In preparation for launch of iPad 2 Apple has added two new touch panel suppliers Chimei Innolux and Cando to meet the increased demand for iPad, which is estimated to top six million units per month in 2011. The shipment of product based on touch panels from these two suppliers will begin in January or February. On the Mac front, Apple will launch upgraded MacBook Pro and iMac models in first half of 2011. Digitimes' sources say Apple will launch four upgraded MacBook Pro models and added new screen size to iMac lineup. Digitimes wrote: The upgraded MacBook Pro notebooks will feature a slight change in chassis design and an upgrade to the new Lion operating system, which should help Apple's notebook shipments grow 30-40% on year in 2011. Our sources say that Apple will ship the MacBook Pro models before they launch the new Mac OS X Lion. MacBook Pro update will come soon after Intel launches the new Sandy Bridge processors in January, as Apple is already a generation behind current crop of Windows laptops.
