LG Display has unveiled world’s thinnest LCD TV panel measuring 2.6mm (0.10-inch). LG created the ultra-thin LCD panel by using ultra-slim, edge-lit LED backlight system and proprietary optical film technology. The 42-inch panel weighs less than 4 Kg (8.8 pounds) and offers 120Hz refresh rate along with full HD 1920 x 1080 resolution. No other details about the panel were revealed, but LG will give more information about the new panel at CES 2010 in January.
