Western Digital today announced it is shipping the world’s first ultraslim 2.5-inch, 5mm hard drive, which is designed for integration into the slimmest devices and space-constrained computing environments. With 500 GB of storage capacity and models with high performance-enabling solid state hybrid drive technology, this slim product line helps to address the tradeoffs system designers often make between capacity, physical size and performance.
“With the launch of our new WD Blue 5 mm ultra slim hard drives and our WD Black SSHD products, currently shipping to OEMs, WD is delivering to our customers a variety of solutions that maximize storage capacity and volumetric efficiency, as well as performance and system responsiveness, for consumers,” said Matt Rutledge, vice president of WD’s client computing business unit. “Our engineering team took a clean-sheet approach with 5 mm to deliver an ultra-thin hard drive that enables a world of possibilities and applications for mobile computing and beyond.”
WD Blue 2.5-inch 5 mm hard drives, (model: WD5000MPCK) is priced $89.00 USD. Logitech today introduced two new Folios for iPad, Logitech FabricSkin Keyboard Folio for iPad and Logitech Folio for iPad and iPad mini.
"We've combined design cues from the world of high fashion with the unbeatable typing experience you expect from Logitech to bring a new level of self-expression to iPad protection," said Mike Culver, vice president of brand development for tablet accessories at Logitech. Two separate photo leaks have revealed the parts of upcoming iOS devices that Apple will ship later this year. In the first leak, case company called Tactus have posted on their blog a photo, which they claim is rear shell of fifth generation iPad. And the shell in the photo indeed matches the rumored design of the upcoming iPad 5, which according to rumors will follow the iPad mini’s design. The rear shell in the photo looks completely finished, which would indicate that Apple is in final stages of product development and manufacturing.
In the second leak, Japanese parts shop Moumantai has posted photo of nano SIM trays that they claim are for next generation iPhone 5S. However, as the SIM trays are almost identical to current iPhone 5’s SIM tray, but in slightly different color we believe that they are just cheap iPhone 5 replacement parts advertised as iPhone 5S parts.

Apple’s CEO Tim Cook has already confirmed that we will be seeing next generation Mac Pros this year with completely new design that will amaze us. And it looks like Apple is indeed planning something big for the next generation Mac Pro. Blog Bright Side of News is reporting that during their recent visit to factories in the Far East they came across 2TB Solid State Drives bearing Apple logo. Theo Valich posted:
While touring the facility on a completely unrelated subject, we encountered something very interesting – an initial run of Solid State drives bearing a logo which is very recognizable in the West - Apple Inc. The fruity company from Cupertino remained silent on the strategy with their professional line of products, Mac Pro. They also keep on making the iMac as thin as humanly possible, using the same components as on their notebooks.
But seeing a 2TB Solid State Drive with an Apple logo on it opens very large ground for speculation. Given that we were not able to learn more about the parts in question, we have to leave it at that. But from the looks of it, the 2TB drives used industry standard 3.5” form factor, full height (just like your regular 3.5” spinning drive) and a SATA connector (not SAS or some proprietary port).
The 3.5” form factor leaves only one possibility; if the drives are real, Apple will be using them in the next Mac Pro. As other Apple desktops iMac and Mac mini use smaller 2.5-inch hard drive. Development of 3.5” 2TB SSD by Apple clearly shows that they are pulling out all the stops in development of the next generation Mac Pro. And it won’t be combination of generic parts just to make the Mac Pro fans happy by releasing an updated model.

Samsung has already announced the March 14th Galaxy S IV launch event in Times Square, New York at 7PM. And with that announcement the floodgates of Galaxy S IV rumors have been opened. Below are some of the more credible rumors about Galaxy S IV that are likely to come true.
Few things that you won’t be hearing at this announcement: First, Samsung will not use some revolutionary material to make the Galaxy S IV, for competing with iPhone 5’s fit and finish. Also, it won’t be much thinner and lighter than current Galaxy S III, the difference will be less than 15%.
It will be interesting to see what Samsung comes up with, as Galaxy S IV will be the lead device for Android platform in 2013.
