SanDisk today launched new Extreme III SDHC cards aimed at pro and high-end amateur photographers. The new cards have read/write speed of 30MB/s, which is 50 percent faster than previous generation cards. The increase in read/write speed will increase camera’s performance for continuous shooting and will also improve speed for transferring photos from camera to computer. The increased transfer speed will also be useful in recording HD video on a camcorder or camera. The new cards will be available in 4GB, 8GB and 16GB capacities for $65, $110 and $180 respectively. All three cards will ship in September.
