Following Vodafone both Verizon and TELUS officially announced the launch of the new BlackBerry Storm touchscreen phone. Both the carriers will introduce BlackBerry Storm 9530, which will support EV-DO Rev.A networks for use with the CDMA network, and 2100Mhz HSDPA and quad band GSM for use worldwide. The BlackBerry Storm 9500 announced by Vodafone will only be a GSM / HSDPA handset and will not support CDMA. Other specifications of the 9530 are same as the 9500. The battery life on both the phones will be 15 days standby and 5.5 hours of talk time. Like Vodafone, both Verizon and TELUS didn’t announce the launch date and pricing. But our sources are pointing to around $199 price point with two year contract to compete with iPhone and a November release date.
