Toshiba has also joined the WiMAX laptop race with the Satellite U405-ST550W ultraportable laptop that features a 13.3” LCD screen. The Windows Vista Home Premium based laptop will come with Intel Centrino 2 Processor Technology, combined WiMAX / WiFi module, eSATA / USB combo port, webcam with face recognition technology, 4GB RAM and 320GB hard drive. According to Toshiba the laptop is preconfigured to work with XOHM WiMAX service launched by sprint and it will be available soon via ToshibaDIrect.com.  No word on price yet. One thing is surprising that Sprint hasn’t announce any bundle offer that would subsidize the laptop price with a WiMAX service contract of 12 or 24 months.  We believe that we will see those offers very soon as the WiMAX service expanded in more cities.
