Acer Takes Lead in Worldwide Notebook Shipment for September

Industrial sources are reporting that Acer shipped 3.4-3.6 million notebooks in September this year beating both HP and Dell. Acer sold 1.2-1.3 million Aspire One netbooks and 2.2-2.3 million notebooks in September. According to estimates HP sold 2.5-2.7 million units and Dell reached 1.8 to 1.9 million units.
Acer had said last year that it’s aiming to become notebook market leader in 2011 and if Acer maintains its shipments performance, it could become market leader before its original goal of 2011. Acer’s new netbook Aspire One saw growing demand in Europe and US for months of August and September. Aspire One was the main reason why Acer’s notebook shipment went past the HP 2.5 million units.
