If you value good quality audio playback and are pained by the awful sound quality of existing Bluetooth headphones, Onkyo has come to your rescue with their MHP-UW2 wireless headphone. Bluetooth compresses the audio to transfer it wirelessly, which results in degradation of sound quality. The Onkyo MHP-UW2 wireless system sends uncompressed audio signal using 2.4GHz digital connection, Onkyo claims that this will deliver true CD quality sound wirelessly.
The headphone comes with a 35 grams transmitter, which is compatible with iPod classic, touch, nano and mini, and has audio inputs for other portable audio devices. The headphone uses lithium-ion batteries for power and they can last for 8 hours of music playback, recharging take about 3 hours. The headphone weighs a comfortable 105 grams including the batteries. Onkyo will start shipping the new MHP-UW2 next month in Japan for Yen 20,000 ($200).
