3G iPhone would be 2.5mm Thinner and will Cost $399Submitted by lalit on April 10, 2008 - 1:44am.
According to TG daily’s industry sources Apple will launch 3G iPhone at WWDC 2008. The starting price will remain same $399, but there might be three different configurations. There will be a 8GB model for $399 and a 16GB model for $499. There might be a third model with 32GB memory for $599. The casing of the phone will also be changed. The phone will be thinner by 2.5mm making it just 9.1mm (0.35”) thick. The accelerometer will be tuned a bit to improve its functionality. As we have seen in iPhone OS 2.0 beta, there will be no change in the operating system or the user interface. In another iPhone related news Engadget has posted screen shots of the search feature added to the contacts in iPhone firmware 2.0 beta. The search bar is at the top of the contacts list. I think we will see the public release of both the 3G iPhone and the iPhone firmware 2.0 on the same day.
