PS3 to get DTS-HD Audio Support in Firmware 2.30

The upcoming PS3 firmware 2.30 will add support for DTS-HD High Resolution Audio and DTS-HD Master Audio. Sony has also confirmed that they will be adding DTS-HD support. Digital Theater System (DTS) is a multichannel, digital surround sound format that can deliver 24.5 Mbps of sound in lossless DTS-HD Master Audio format or 6 Mbps in compressed DTS-HD High Resolution format. The Blu-Ray officially supports the DTS-HD format and more than 100 Blu-Ray movies already support these format. It is believed that Sony will release the Firmware 2.30 when the PlayStation Store upgrade is finished mostly around 15th April.
