An email has been sent to all AT&T retail employees stating that AT&T has started limiting iPhone purchases to One per Customer. This points to the reports that iPhone inventory is vanishing and Apple will not replenish the current generation iPhone supplies. Supply of the iPhone will resume with the introduction of next generation 3G iPhone. You can read the email below.
