Intel has released more details about the upcoming Nehalem processors. The Intel’s next generation chips will have QuickPath data transfer technology and DDR3 integrated memory controller delivering 25 gigabytes per second socket-to-socket bandwidth and 32 gigabytes per second socket to memory bandwidth. The Nehalem processors will use modular approach making all the main components work in a decoupled fashion. Such that frequencies and voltages can all be set independently for various components like CPU, memory system or Input/Output. The Chips frequency adapts to power supply voltage resulting in better power efficiency. The processors will have 8MB level 3 cache and a TDP of 130 watts. Intel will release processor based on Nehalem architecture in fourth quarter of 2008.
