After lot of speculation about what Palm will release on September 12th, Palm today announced Palm Treo 500v a Windows mobile 6 based smartphone. Vodafone will launch the Treo 500v in October. The new phone will not have a touchscreen but it comes with a Qwerty keyboard. The other hardware features on the phone are 3G/UMTS, 2-megapixel camera, 150MB of on-board memory, microSD card slot and Bluetooth. The phone has Internet Explorer and auto delivery of Hotmail, yahoo and Gmail. The cost of the phone is yet not known. The truth is that there is nothing exciting about Treo 500v. The one feature (touchscreen) that has started to become a must on smartphone is also not there. Its just another Windows Mobile 6 based smartphone.
