MacBook Pro Performance BenchmarksSubmitted by lalit on November 26, 2007 - 9:17pm.
Apple updated the MacBook Pro with a new 2.6GHz processor offering earlier this month. You can configure MacBook Pro with 2.6GHz Core 2 Duo for an addition of $250. There is no drastic improvement in performance when compared to 2.4GHz MacBook Pro because there is only a small increase in clock speed. Overall there was 6% to 10% performance increase. According to Primate Labs “If you’re running a lot of processor-intensive tasks where even a small increase in performance is noticeable (and appreciated) then you might want to consider it. Otherwise I’d recommend adding more RAM instead. More RAM will probably help your MacBook Pro performance more than just a faster processor”. You can get more information about the benchmarks on Primate Labs website.
