Micron Develops the Fastest NAND Flash ChipSubmitted by lalit on February 1, 2008 - 2:54pm.
Micron Technology today announced 8-gigabit single-level cell (SLC) high speed NAND product. High speed NAND can read data at 200 MB/s and write data at 100 MB/s that is five times the speed of present SLC NAND Flash. This increase in performance is achieved by leveraging the new ONFI 2.0 specification and a four-plane architecture with higher clock speeds. The performance gain will result in faster way of transferring digital content between devices such as computers, digital cameras, MP3 players and Cell phones. The chip is manufactured by 50-nanometer process node and the mass production will commence in the second half of 2008. FeedBurner |
