NVIDIA Promises Most Affordable Vista Premium PCSubmitted by lalit on April 11, 2008 - 12:35pm.
NVIDIA has launched another attack on Intel and disclosed a plan to create a sub-$45 processor platform that NVIDIA is calling “The World’s Most Affordable Vista Premium PC”. The Platform is based on VIA’s Isaiah processor and integrated NVIDIA graphics chipset. According to NVIDIA their new platform will outperform Intel Celeron based computers by a factor of six. The NVIDIA’s proposed combination will perform 36GFLOPS versus Intel’s 6.4GFLOPS. The platform will support Vista Premium, Blu-ray and DirectX10 that are not supported by Intel’s Celeron based platforms. NVIDIA’s proposed platform looks very good but the main question is when will it be released? Intel has already said that its next generation of integrated graphics chipset will have 10X the performance and the 45nm based Celeron update is around the corner. I think NVIDIA needs to hurry-up.
