IBM Launched a Pilot Program to Move Significant Number of Employees to MacSubmitted by lalit on April 16, 2008 - 2:00pm.
Roughly Drafted is reporting that IBM’s Research Information Services launched an internal pilot program to study the possibility of moving significant number of employees to Mac. The first phase of the pilot program was started in October 2007 and end in January 2008. During this phase IBM distributed 24 MacBook Pro to researchers at IBM. At the end of four month period… only three out of twenty four chose their old Windows based Thinkpad laptop over the Macbook Pro. 18 of the 24 participants said that Macbook Pro offered “better or best experience”. IBM will continue to work toward offering a true Open Client that may be Windows, Linux or a Mac, Research IP is focusing on providing an IBM application stack on multiple OSs, rather then be confined to one or the other. This is another evidence pointing at decline of Windows platform and the raising awareness about Macs. You can read the complete details about the pilot program at Roughly Drafted. FeedBurner |
