Asus has officially released their new Eee PC 900 that comes with an 8.9” (1024 X 600 resolution), 1GB RAM and 4GB on board flash memory. Additionally Windows XP version will get 8GB SSD and Linux version will get 16GB SSD via PCIe slot. The laptop will use the same Intel Celeron M processors but will switch to faster and cooler Atom processors in June (we suggest wait till July before buying one). The Eee PC 900 is the first ASUS laptop with FIngerGlide technology that will support multitouch gestures on the trackpad. Asus follows Apple’s lead to offer multitouch on a laptop trackpad. The laptop will come with 1.3-megapixel webcam and WiFi support, a WiMAX version is expected later. The price will range from $500 to $650 based on configuration. Depending on the country, Asus will rollout the Eee-PC 900 between now and May end.
