Apple is celebrating 5 years of iTunes store that was launched on April 28th 2003. Apple wrote in a note on iTunes “Has it been five years already? On our fifth anniversary, we’re taking a look back at all of the great music, video and exclusive you first discovered on iTunes, highlighting the songs and shows that defined each year.” Apple described the year 2003, as “This is where it all began Launching on April 28, 2003, the iTunes Music Store offered an easy way to download the music you love for $0.99 a song with no subscription fees. We had more than 200,000 songs and a handful of exclusive tracks. (Today we’ve got more than 10 million.) Below is a selection of the bestselling songs and albums from our first year, accompanied by our hand-picked favorites.” You can check the best selling albums and songs as well as Staff favorite albums and songs for every year from 2003 and onwards.
