Super talent today launched it MasterDrive MX a new solid-state drive that uses less expensive multi-level cell technology flash memory to reduce cost. The 2.5” laptop drive will be available in three sizes 120GB for $699, 60GB for $499 and 30GB for $299. The MasterDrive MX SSDs are priced less than half the cost of typical SSDs available in the market. The company is using a new flash memory technology that would last longer and will have faster read and write (40Mbps) speed compared to present multi-level cell technology (MLC). Super Talent has also released a high performance DX line that uses single-level cell technology for faster write speed (70Mbps) and would last longer. The 30GB DX SSD will be priced $699 and the 60GB will be priced $1299. Both the MX and DX series use faster SATA connection to communicate with the computer. FeedBurner |
