The price for NAND flash memory chip continued to go down. The 8Gb (Gigabit) NAND flash price dropped to $2.35, the lowest till now this year. As a result of the continued weak demand for electronic products it is very likely that the price of 16Gb Flash chips will fall below $4 very soon. Even though the rapid decline in price is not a good news for NAND flash chip manufacturers, it is good for consumers as price for products like SSDs or USB memory drives will come down sooner than expected.
