iPhone 3G Line Starts Forming in JapanSubmitted by lalit on July 9, 2008 - 10:20am.
People in Japan have started lining up for iPhone 3G at Softbank’s flagship store on Omotesandou street in Tokyo. Softbank will launch the iPhone 3G in Japan on July 11th at 7am (July 10th, 6pm EST). The photo was taken almost 52 hours before the launch and more than 15 people were already in the line. Hiroyuki Sano will be the first person in Asia to lay his hand on iPhone 3G. One of the person in the line Sano will turn 25 on July 11th and has taken four days off from school to travel 230 miles from his hometown Nagoya to Tokyo and get in line for the new iPhone 3G. He actually paid more for the travel than he will pay for the iPhone. Normally this kind of build-up is reserved for gaming console release in Japan. This is the first time a mobile phone is being released with such fanfare. FeedBurner |
